We love it when babies turn 1 year old, and we certainly had a wonderful time photographing Elijah’s first birthday celebration! At one year old, this little guest of honor certainly knew how to work the crowd with his adorable smile!

Although Elijah may not have realized it, his mom and dad sure threw him an amazing party filled with great food, adorable decorations, balloon animals, and a beautiful slide show! If only everyday could be like a kid’s birthday!

It has almost been a year since we took our beautiful vacation to Ireland and it only took almost a year for us to finally get around to processing these photos! I know it sounds pretty ridiculous, but when you’re working full time and shooting part time, all vacation and other personal photos hardly get a second glance. Ack! Okay seriously, no more excuses!

So without further adieu, here are some of our photos from our trip to Southern Ireland in Spring of 2009! Join us in our travels from Blarney Castle, Ring of Kerry, and Dingle Peninsula to everything else green in between!

We heart Ireland!!

There’s nothing sweeter than a girl’s 16th birthday party and, for Rowena, it was as sweet as pink cotton candy!

The night began with a grand entrance from the beautiful birthday girl, followed by a rose dance with 16 significant men in her life (first being her father). Then there was the lighting of 16 birthday cake candles by 16 significant women in Rowena’s life (first being her mother), a wonderful slide show, and a full night of dancing! Now that’s how you throw a Sweet 16!

Daniel and I don’t get to be around teenagers much, so we must say that it was refreshing to be in the midst of so many young and restless souls dancing the night away like there’s no tomorrow! Ah, to be 16 again! The age of discovery, rebellion, and giving my parents a heart attack in the car with my brand new permit!
